Elena Trapé

When Elena Trapé is not directing she is bored to death. She loves teamwork and challenges. Despite having a feature-length film, a series of short films and a substantial number of commercials in her curriculum, if you try to ask her what she thinks her best work is, she will respond that the best is undoubtedly the next. Distinctive characteristics: a strong desire to always participate in new projects, and to continue to learn and tell stories that no one has ever told before. Elena has had a degree in Cinema and Direction from the University of Barcelona, a Diploma at the School of Cinema and Audiovisuals at Catalunya- ESCAC (2000-2004), a Postgraduate Diploma in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona (1999-2000) and a degree in Art History from the autonomous University of Barcelona (1994-1999).

Saku
Roberto “Saku” Cinardi was born in Rome, Italy. While going to Film School, he started playing his bass guitar in a punk rock band. Music + Film School = Music Videos! In 2007 his video “Fashion Kills Romance” launched his directing career, resulting in over 90 music videos filmed in just 3 years.
Roberto keeps pushing so that each and every spot he directs looks bigger, better and different than the previous one. This explains his recent Cannes Lion for “The Rarest Ones” and his ongoing collaboration with award winning agencies like Saatchi&Saatchi and Havas.

He still plays his bass and is currently writing his first feature: a Sci-Fi thriller you won’t want your kids to watch.

Vallée Duhamel

Montreal-based duo Julien Vallée and Eve Duhamel, or as they’re more widely known, Vallée Duhamel, continually surprise and delight by directing complex narratives that combine art direction, design, and hand-rigged objects with high-end production techniques.
Their pieces for Google and Hermés and their last independent short film Strangers showcase their synthesis of techniques: sometimes stop-motion, sometimes very basic visual effects (in the style of George Méliès), sometimes CGI.
The secret of their style lies in freeing themselves from the limit of some techniques and rather using them as a toolbox to employ depending on each idea.

Francesco Quadrelli

Francesco Quadrelli is a director born in La Spezia, he spends his adolescence between the small ports of the province and the garage where he plays the drums with his group. Attending the La Spezia underground scene, between photography and music he shoots the first video clips for local artists. In 2018 he graduated from the Luchino Visconti Civic School of Cinema in Milan and after working as a filmmaker in an advertising agency, he began his career as a director in 2020. His background as a drummer has greatly influenced his approach to editing: sound and rhythm distinguish his projects; the street-photography soul instead allowed him to make the most of locations, faces, and composition, capturing glances and moments in the best possible way. Now he loves directing commercials and works with various Italian production companies, having recently set foot abroad. In the meantime he follows emerging Italian and London artists on a photographic level, creating portraits and artworks. His projects have a punk approach and soul, he mixes different techniques and supports when he has the opportunity, always maintaining an elegant and delicate aesthetic. His natural habitats are the set, the rocks, and the Baracchetta di Lerici (SP).

Cric

Cric are two directors who came out of nowhere, emerging from the dusty volumes of Heidegger or leaping out from the intertwined letters of some medieval miniature. Totally unaware of the rules and mechanisms of the system, like the naive characters of Russell, Cric made their company, unaware that it was impossible. Without having any clients, they wrote and directed the self produced commercial “Perché tu mi piaci.” Poste Italiane fell in love, and in a few weeks Cric had earned themselves two and a half million views, an agreement for a second commercial, a Cannes Lion, an ADCI, and a spot on various shortlists. They love to tell true and genuine stories and their style is flat and blunt. They cannot stand the advertising style that disconnects from reality. If you wish to recognize them on set, know that Davide is the tall and handsome one, and Clem is the other.

John O’Hagan

Just after finishing studying Film Studies at New York University, with a single (though winning) documentary, John O’Hagan had the opportunity to lead a campaign of three commercials for Dial-a-Mattress, which gave a surge to his career, receiving awards in all major advertising occasions. Signing with Hungry Man, he soon became a specialist in writing the most epically idiotic scripts for clients like Outpost.com (in which a pack of wolves attacked fans at the stadium) and EDS, for the now classic commercial, nominated at the Emmys, about Cat Herders; people devoted to bringing back thousands of wild cats of the West to the corral. His sharp and highly visual humour, enhanced by his ability to obtain performances from particularly hilarious actors, has merited him numerous Lions at Cannes over the years. With Think | Cattleya John has directed three commercials for Lottomatica.

Eugenio Recuenco

Well-known and acclaimed for his creative contribution in the editorial and advertising field, Eugenio Recuenco is one of the most eclectic and controversial contemporary Spanish photographers. His style, always vivid and gloomy, ironic in its own way, makes use of a high dose of photographic technique, a tight-knit team as in “The Eye of Frosker,” and a passion for out of the ordinary work. Uses fish-eye, black and white, photo-manipulation, sunburn, Polaroid film, still-life and video in a bold and provocative manner, a tense gaze is a constant in his work, intended to bring out the shadows of the soul through eccentric and provocative details, looks, and mise-en-scene. After presenting in September 2008 the short film Quizás at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Eugenio undertooken directing as a full time career, carrying out several experimental shorts and major advertising campaigns for clients such as Loewe, Chivas Regal, Ferrero and Nina Ricci. With Think | Cattleya, Eugenio created a high-profile cultural campaign conceived by JWT for Regione Campania, executing both the direction of the commercial as well as the shots of the award-winning print campaign.

Sven & Calle
Johan Tappert

He began his directing career at Mod Films as an assistant of Fredrik Bond, then moved behind the camera in first person, directing for Atmosfar Stockholm. In his work he manages to blend cinematic moods with remarkably accurate casting, leaving the overly professed comedy behind in search of a more subtle vein of the absurd, while always maintaining a perfectly authentic look. He accumulated various awards at Cannes and in the USA for his Lotto, A & E, and Holiday Inn campaigns. Between 2006 and 2007 he devoted himself to directing two highly successful Swedish TV series, “Poliser” and “Labyrint.” He explains his approach to directing as follows: “I love to create suspense, to pull in the audience from the very first shots, igniting their curiosity, and then finish off with a twist. Each time I try to tell credible, authentic stories using strong, well-defined characters and well-reasoned scripts in order not to lose the public’s attention for even a second. I’m always looking for a convincing idea, and I try to make it credible, with the eye of an observer, understated. The most interesting stories are those on the edge of the absurd, because combined with a way of filming that maintains the authentic, a very communicative contrast is created.”Johan has directed two commercials for a Y&R Roma campaign, produced by Think | Cattleya for Lottomatica.
