Eugenio Recuenco

Well-known and acclaimed for his creative contribution in the editorial and advertising field, Eugenio Recuenco is one of the most eclectic and controversial contemporary Spanish photographers. His style, always vivid and gloomy, ironic in its own way, makes use of a high dose of photographic technique, a tight-knit team as in “The Eye of Frosker,” and a passion for out of the ordinary work. Uses fish-eye, black and white, photo-manipulation, sunburn, Polaroid film, still-life and video in a bold and provocative manner, a tense gaze is a constant in his work, intended to bring out the shadows of the soul through eccentric and provocative details, looks, and mise-en-scene. After presenting in September 2008 the short film Quizás at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Eugenio undertooken directing as a full time career, carrying out several experimental shorts and major advertising campaigns for clients such as Loewe, Chivas Regal, Ferrero and Nina Ricci. With Think | Cattleya, Eugenio created a high-profile cultural campaign conceived by JWT for Regione Campania, executing both the direction of the commercial as well as the shots of the award-winning print campaign.
